Cuando un apagón masivo en la ciudad de Detroit deja esta localidad con
completa oscuridad, un grupo de individuos se encuentran solos. Toda la
población está desapareciendo de la nada, dejando detrás montones de
ropa, coches abandonados y sombras. La luz del día enseguida comienza a
desaparecer por completo, y los supervivientes se reúnen en una taberna
abandonada, y se dan cuenta de que la oscuridad va a por ellos y que
solo las fuentes de luz pueden salvarlos.
Una serie de misteriosos apagones comienzan a provocar que los
habitantes de unas poblaciones limítrofes desaparezcan misteriosamente
dejando tan sólo sus ropas y posesiones. Un pequeño grupo de
supervivientes se agruparán en una taberna a oscuras para tratar de
combatir este horror apocalíptico. No tardan en darse cuenta que cuando
la luz se va, la oscuridad va a por ellos y les hace desaparecer de
alguna forma, por tanto solo las fuentes de luz puede salvarles. Al
darse cuenta de que posiblemente sean las últimas personas vivas en la
Tierra, deberán emprender una terrible lucha por mantenerse con vida.
